Bieler Bros. Records first ever Fan Spotlight couldn’t shine on a brighter more dedicated fan, Katherine comes to us from the Bieler Bros. friendly state of Wisconsin. Kathrine first caught the eye of Bieler Bros. and her fellow fans as a member of several BBR artist street teams, where her outstanding work ethic found her leading the promotional charge on nearly every task thrown her way. Kathrine’s favorite BBR bands are Skindred, Fiction Plane, Nonpoint and Smile Empty Soul, with Cake and Weezer being her favorite non-BBR bands. Additionally, she lists her favorite Bieler Bros experience to be a twenty minute conversation with Skindred bassist, Dan Pugsley about the finer points of Cadbury chocolates and jellybeans at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Nonpoint tattoos I have for Nonpoint are not the reason but the way they happened are. i was in high school, my parents had just gotten divorced and my dad blamed me for it. I had contemplated suicide and i had a few CDs in my stereo, i was home alone and had the means to do it but a song came through the speakers that changed my life, Nonpoint's "Endure", it got me to realize things could get better. I've had the chance to meet the guys numerous times, and they're the coolest guys around, as you can tell by the picture. I've seen the band somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 times and the show just gets better each time. Furthermore, Bieler Bros. has the best bands by far, from Nonpoint & Ankla to Skindred, top to bottom the label rocks.

I love many of the bands that are with Bieler Bros. First I started listening to SikTh, then my friend got me into Nonpoint, then I fell for Ankla at Ozzfest, Need for Speed got me into Skindred, and I recently found Karnivool as a favorite of mine while looking for bands on youtube by Bieler Bros. Records. I believe that yours is the best record label of them all because of the wonderful diversity of the music that you sign. And I love almost all of your bands. Thank you!

I have followed Another Black Day from the very start when they were "From The Ashes". I remember the first time seeing them play in a place that wasn't fit for bands but more for roller hockey, they ROCKED the place. I knew they had something from the first time I heard there demo stuff the rest is history. I can't wait for the new album and all the amazing stuff to come.

My love for Fiction Plane started a long time ago, back in 2000 when they were still known as Santa's Boyfriends. Eight great years later I haven't stopped listening. There's never a day that goes by without promoting the band for me.

I first discovered Fiction Plane in January 2007 shortly after hearing the Police were going on tour. I wanted to know more about them so went to their mySpace page and to be honest it has changed my whole life!! I LOVED the band the second I heard them - and when I saw them live I was knocked sideways - they are so AWESOME live!! Then I met them a few times and they are so good to their fans you come away feeling very special. It is a LONG time since I discovered a band that actually had me so excited. I wanted to see them every night! After seeing them 3 or 4 times I asked them if they would like me to start up a fan group on mySpace - they said yes and The Fictionaires were born.
The Fictionaires group has become quite a force to be reckoned with over the past 9 months. I had no idea it would take off the way it did! The members are all as loonie about the band as I am and as a group we organize a lot of campaigns to help support the guys. We go "on tour" with the band as much as we can - in fact The Fictionaires are represented now at most live shows! I am very proud at how much work the group are willing to do to support the band and can't quite believe bow successful the group has been. I would do anything to support these guys. Anyone who goes to see them live comes away absolutely blown away by them - you can't help it. Their energy on stage is electric. As far as I am concerned this band are the best band on the planet at the moment - they are the hardest working - they are all very talented musicians and they keep it real. Their songs rock - their show rocks - they rock!!! Everything about them is everything I think a rock band should be. I bow down to their awesomeness as both people and musicians. My whole life revolves around this band now and I cannot wait until they achieve world domination. I intend to be there every step of the way!!! ROCK!!!!!!!!!

I used to think that Skindred was a stupid wanna-be band (boy was i wrong). Sadly, I was judging them on one song. At the time I only liked Melodic Death Metal. So as you can image my musical tastes were very very limited. A few months later I was searching the web, bored out of my mind ( like I do on many days ) and I came across Skindred's Myspace page. I thought to myself, " what the hell! I'll give em another try ". Oddly enough, despite my earlier judgments of the band I was blown away. Mostly by the eclectic mix of music in this band. And Benji... ... Holy Crap!!! This guy can sing! Not only that, He can seemingly switch between singing and screaming with utter ease. Being a musician myself, I was jealous of the band but loved them all at the same time. So, here I am today. A die hard Skindred fan for life!!! Oh yeah! That one song I was judging them so sorely on has turned out to be one of my favorite tracks! Skindred Forever!!!!!

I first saw Skindred live in September 2005 having arrived at a gig already knowing and loving their sound but not even realising they were on the bill.
Since that fateful day I have seen them live roughly 20 times all over the UK.
Whilst Skindred may not necessarily be my favorite band, or even my favorite style of music, I would rather see them live than anyone else.
I have seen them with so many different types of bands, whether headlining or support they work the crowd like no other band I have ever seen. Benji has even the harshest critics eating out of the palm of his hand with Mikey, Dan and Arya his right hand men.
I consider myself blessed that after 3 years and so many gigs I can say that the Skindred boys are without a doubt still the most down to earth wonderful guys.
I'm a life long fan of the guys, the sound and the atmosphere that never ceases to take my breath away at their live shows. Be it dingy clubs with a half dead dancefloor, packed venues or open air festivals... Skindred live is something just not to be missed.
Love them or hate them... see them live and you will have a new found respect for just what it means to be part of something special.

About six years ago I was an awkward teen who didn't really know who I was and was too afraid of other people's opinions to be, and like what I wanted. I got along with everyone I met but didn't fit in anywhere and really didn't have a clear sense of who I was. This probably sounds like one of those awful self-loathing teen movies, but I promise it's not.
I remember the first time I heard Nonpoint, my favorite band that has ever been on Bieler Bros. and my favorite band in general. It was one of those nights where I was cruising with friends and someone popped in "Development" and there was just this moment of aw and clarity and something clicked. About a week later I found Bielerbros.com and Nonpoint's forum and found immediate acceptance and made fast friendships with the people on the forums. Soon after I attended my first Nonpoint show where I was completely blown away by the degree of talent this band possessed. It was that night that the music hit me and I fell in love with music and made my biggest connection, knowing that music was going to be a huge part of my life. I'm sure there are others that know how it feels when you just connect with music. It was truly awesome.
Anyway, I continued to use Bielerbros.com to meet some of the coolest people from around the world, find out about some amazing bands, and attend some of the coolest shows. The greatest thing about this Record Label is that it just had this feeling of "Come as you are." (Kudos to Cobain for that one) I've seen so many record labels that try to push their ticket sales and bands by creating these stereotypes and they only cater to a certain type of person. But B.B.R. was here for anyone, everyone, and me. They didn't care about what their fans looked liked or any of that prepackaged nonsense. They actually cared about who the fans were as people and what we wanted and that was just astonishing to me. An established record label with amazing bands actually cared about what I wanted to hear in music, wanted to wear in band clothes, and wanted to know MY thoughts, ideas, and opinions on things like band promotion and street teaming. The bands on the label, like Nonpoint, Burn Season and Skindred (My three favorites!) also wanted to know what we, as fans wanted in our music. I got the chance to directly put in my opinions on album names, merchandise ideas, and other cool things that normally is behind the scenes. At the live shows the bands treated me and other fans as though we were old friends, always stopping to chat, shake hands, and take pictures. The bands on the label were equally as cool and inviting as the label itself, they all had that same vibe of acceptance with their fans. It was never about a look or an attitude, strictly the music and that made such an impression on me. It made me realize that it didn't matter if I was goth, or punk, straight edge or anything else, I was perfectly accepted as I was.
I have had so many amazing experiences through out the years. I've received amazing perks like Clothes, CDs, wrist bands, photo passes, concert tickets, backstage passes and met a ton of cool people all for being a fan and getting to street team and tell other people about bands that I love and a truly unique record label. I've went through some rough times, break ups, make ups and other personal issues, but the B.B.R. forums were always like a second home to me and I've always been able to come back here and reconnect with amazing friends, bands, and music. One of the girls on the forums used to quote Bob Marley and say "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." That's something that will stay with me forever, thanks to Nonpoint, Skindred, and B.B.R., music truly has been a solace for me that got me through those tough teen years and helped me transition into being comfortable with who I am today, for me, rock and roll is and always will be about, being who you are and staying true to yourself, not about silly labels or fads.
So, yeah, I'm probably a Bieler Bros. FANatic, but that's a label I'm okay with having.
